Understand how RPC Components grades wholesale IT equipment, including laptops, desktops and items listed with individual condition notes.
Clear Grading For Trade Buyers
All grading structures are slightly different. At RPC Components, items are graded by physical condition only. Operating defects, anomalies or other issues are noted separately against each device, which is why individual units are listed with their own condition information wherever appropriate.
Laptops
Grade A Laptops
Reserved for units that show evidence of very light previous use. Wear is associated with standard minimal use only. Grade A units may have very minor scuffing or light abrasions, with only light keyboard wear. Screens will not feature scratches, cracks, chips, dead pixels, dark spots, discoloration or blemishes.
Grade B Laptops
Fully tested and functional, but may have scratches on the laptop body, heavier housing wear than Grade A, scratches on cover/lid, heavier keyboard wear, small dings, dents or small paint chips. Screens may have uneven light diffusion, subtle blemishes or slight scratching, but no cracks or dead pixels.
Grade C Laptops
Fully tested and functional, but may feature multiple or excessive scratches, large paint chips, dents, dings, broken hinges or latches. Screens may have uneven light diffusion, blemishes or dark marks. Grade C laptops show moderate to heavy wear from previous use.
Grade D Laptops
Defective, non-working or cosmetically flawed beyond repair. These units are sold for parts only.
Desktops
Grade A Desktops
PCs with no deep scratches, cracks, paint chips, or broken or missing pieces. These are generally close to like-new condition for used equipment.
Grade B Desktops
Fully tested and functional, but may have light scratches on the external body, more noticeable housing or case wear than Grade A, small dings, dents or small paint chips.
Grade C Desktops
May have multiple scratches, large areas of paint missing, severe dents or other cosmetic damage.
Grade D Desktops
Defective, non-working or cosmetically flawed beyond repair. These units are sold for parts only.
Important Buying Note
Grades describe physical condition. Any known functional issues, missing parts or other anomalies should be checked in the individual product details before adding units to your order.
This is especially important where multiple units are available under the same model, because individual machines can differ in grade, specification and condition notes.
